Wayne Motts Biographical Sketch
Mr. Wayne E. Motts is the President & CEO of the Gettysburg Foundation. He has been a licensed battlefield guide at the Gettysburg Park National Military Park for the past 35 years. He is the author of the only published biography of Southern General Lewis A. Armistead who died at the Spangler Farm on July 5, 1863. Armistead was stationed in Kansas prior to the American Civil War and was at one time the post commander of Fort Riley. Mr. Motts is also the coauthor (with James A. Hessler) of Pickett’s Charge at Gettysburg: A Guide to the Most Famous Attack in American History.
Mr. Motts was originally schedule to be our speaker in November of 2020. However, that program was cancelled due to the pandemic.
