David D. Schafer Bio
Mr. David D. Schafer served as a park ranger for the National Park Service for over three decades at historic sites in Kansas, Hawaii, Missouri, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, and Texas. He is now an independent historian.
Dave grew up in Richmond, Kansas and majored in history at Pittsburg State University. Dave lives in Stonewall, Texas. Dave was a member of the Civil War Round Table of Kansas City in the 1990s when he was stationed at the Harry S Truman National Historic Site and from 2009 to 2013 when he was stationed at Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site in Topeka. Dave retired from the National Park Service in 2019.
