Randy Durbin was born and raised in Chautauqua and Elk Counties, Kansas. He graduated from Moline High School in 1972. After graduation, Randy attended Kansas State University, graduating in 1976.

Randy has been employed in banking since college graduation. He is currently an Executive Vice President with the Kansas State Bank in Overbrook, Kansas

Randy and his wife, Nancy, have two children, Nathan and Grant (deceased), and three granddaughters, Hayley, Morgan and Carley.
