Dr. Ian Michael Spurgeon was going to be speaking about the 1st Kansas Colored Infantry.  However, he tore his right bicep muscle and had to have surgery.  Our substitute speaker was Arnold Schofield, who gave a program titled:  “Badger Boys on the Border.”  Arnold will try to reschedule Mr. Spurgeon for later this year (August, October, or December).  Mr. Spurgeon’s new book is titled:  Soldiers in the Army of Freedom.  Mr. Spurgeon lives in Washington D.C.
